An updated release model for high-pressure CO2 pipelines in Phast: validation of discharge and dispersion predictions against CO2PIPETRANS experiments
This video looks at advances in safety for carbon capture and storage (CCS), focusing on the transportation of high-pressure CO2 through long pipelines
Improvements to the Phast pipeline release model, Pipebreak-II, and a comprehensive validation of this extended model against the CO2PIPETRANS experiments are presented. Concentrations calculated by the Phast unified dispersion model (UDM) are also compared against measurements from the same experiments. Both discharge and dispersion model predictions show excellent agreement with the measured data, giving improved confidence in modelling dense phase liquid CO2 releases in Phast.
