Getting to know the laboratory accreditation system
Why register for the course Introduction to ISO/IEC 17025:2017
For calibration and testing laboratories, the reference standard for accreditation is UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The standard defines the requirements a laboratory must meet to demonstrate the technical competence of its personnel and the availability of all technical resources to ensure accurate and reliable data and results for specific tests, measurements, calibrations. It also defines the requirements for the management of the quality system to ensure that the laboratory provides reliable services.
Accreditation certifies the quality level of a laboratory's work (testing and calibration) by verifying the conformity of its management system and competences with internationally recognised regulatory requirements as well as with mandatory legislative requirements.
