Cyber Resilience of Onboard Systems and Equipment (IACS UR-E27)

Training designed to support the key responsible person working for a system vendor involved in the design, deployment and continuous management of a resilient onboard system, according to international standards and best practices.

Objectives

The participant will receive the necessary support in order to build and operate cyber resilient onboard systems and marine equipment according to international standards (IACS UR-E27) and best practices.

 

Entrance requirements

Basic maritime knowledge, preferably including maritime cyber security knowledge.

Who should attend:

Vendors of onboard operational technology and marine systems, other professionals responsible for, or involved in, safeguarding vessels from cyber risks.

Duration: 8 hours

 

From July 1st 2024, IACS UR-E27 is applicable and enforces cyber security design and operation requirements for vendors within the maritime industry. This course is designed to support the key responsible person working for a system vendor to design, deploy and continuously manage a resilient onboard system according to international standards and best practices.

Course attendees will learn about their role and responsibilities step by step over the complete system life cycle covering all relevant phases – Design & Construction, Acceptance, Commissioning & Handover and In operation. Furthermore, they will also be informed about all aspects of the required cyber resilience, documentation, system and secure life-cycle development requirements according to IACS UR-E27 and DNV Cyber Secure class rules. Finally, they will learn how they can carry out their tasks most efficiently and interact effectively with other key stakeholders such as shipyards, owners and class societies.
