This is a comprehensive course for Cascade Connect users responsible for the configuration of PI to Cascade data mapping and functionality.

The following topics are covered:

  • Incorporating nameplate specifications into algorithms
  • Including variable date ranges in RPacks
  • Building independent functions
  • Include complex event criteria, using multi-point events
  • Exploring quality tags to include/exclude events

You will be given the opportunity to apply your new knowledge of Cascade Connect software through hands-on examples and case studies.

Learning objectives

Cascade Connect is an interface between Cascade utility asset management software and SCADA data collected by PI Historian. Mapping functions between PI tags and Cascade equipment initiates the application of reliability packs to bring critical online data into Cascade for use in triggers and trending.

Target group

The course is aimed at Cascade Connect administrators and engineers who will be responsible for designing the system to match current needs on an operational basis as well as IT professionals who may be part of the Cascade/Cascade Connect administration team. It may include subject matter experts (SMEs) for detailed knowledge on specific equipment management, such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc.
