Norwegian continental shelf compliance service
Our standardised class-based service assists you in meeting Norwegian continental shelf regulatory verification obligations.
The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) issues extensive regulations and enforces a unique regulatory compliance process for MOUs and FOIs operating on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).
We have been active on the NCS since exploration started some 50 years ago. Based on our in-depth understanding of Norwegian requirements and close contact and cooperation with the regulatory authorites, we are uniquely positioned to provide cost-effective services that ensure regulatory compliance for mobile offshore units (MOUs) and floating offshore installations (FOIs).
We offer standardised verification services as additional “N” class notations. These cover all the relevant regulatory aspects for NCS operation. The N notation has been in existence since 1984, and is continuously updated to ensure state-of-the-art interpretation of the latest governmental regulations.
Of the 56 units currently holding a Norwegian operating licence (AoC), 50 are classed with DNV. Additionally, all of these have applied the N notation in their qualification process.
Rely on our extensive experience in NCS regulations for all your compliance needs:
- Gain confidence, as DNV’s N notation is a recognised, cost-effective verification which greatly helps to simplify the AoC technical assurance process towards PSA
- Ensure the unit continues to be in compliance with future relevant technical requirements for NCS operation
