It intends to fulfil the due diligence concept and applies to any player in the food and beverage supply chain, including packaging materials and consumer products. Certification demonstrates your commitment to the safety, quality and operational criteria required to fulfil obligations with regards to legal compliance and protection of the consumer in B2B (e.g. product/ingredients manufacturers), retail and catering.
What is the standard
The BRCGS Global Standard for storage and distribution covers the complete supply chain, from transportation, storage, wholesale, e-commerce and cross docking to the farm or processor, via the retail depot, store or internet supplier and all the way to the final consumer. Certification comprises assessment of a company’s premises, operational systems and procedures against the requirements of the standards. The standard supports users meet customer requirements, fulfil legal obligations and protect consumer by:
- Providing a common basis for evaluating companies involved in storage and distribution of products.
- Enabling accredited certification of companies supplying products and services to retailer and allied industries.
