Wind turbines invariably produce mechanical and aerodynamic noise due to the operation of their components and the air passing over the rotor blades, respectively. Rotating parts emit sound at different frequencies and different sound powers. Quantifying these parameters is important for manufacturers as a verification of the guaranteed sound power level of their prototype.
