Are solar availability assumptions too optimistic?

Views from NREL, kWh Analytics, and DNV

Solar Availability is generally a controllable loss, but yet there can be material losses. This webinar will present three recent studies on this topic from three different organizations: NREL, kWh Analytics and DNV to describe what availability losses are realistically achievable. Variations in these values by plant size and other characteristics will be described.

The on-dmand webinar is intended for solar developers, financiers, manufacturers, and asset managers. After the webinar, attendees will have answers to the following questions:

  • What will DNV’s new availability loss assumption be?
  • What type of data went into determining this new availability loss?
  • How does DNV’s analysis compare with NREL and kWh Analytics?

Speakers

  • Usgal Zandanbal, Manager, Solar Energy Assessment, DNV (moderator)
  • Chris Deline, Group Manager, PV Field Performance, NREL
  • Ben Browne, Data Scientist, kWh Analytics
  • Ian Tse, Senior Solar Engineer & Software Developer, Energy Analytics & Measurements, DNV
  • Mark Mikofski, Director, Solar Energy Assessment, DNV
