Floating Offshore Wind in the Gulf of Maine

On-demand video series

To date, there has been a lot of planning and progress made for the future of floating offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine. Due to its water depths and vast coastline, the state of Maine is one of the top contenders for the development of offshore wind projects in the United States. In fact, the state’s goal by 2050 is to have 100% of Maine’s electricity sourced from renewable energy—making it one of the most ambitious renewable energy programs in the country.

Before this can become a reality, there are many factors to consider. In our video series, experts from DNV’s North American Offshore Wind Team provide an overview of the challenges, opportunities, and technical aspects for floating wind in the Gulf of Maine.
