Course summary
The OHL training course covers all electrical, mechanical, structural and civil aspects with respect to the design of overhead lines. Electrical aspects include insulation coordination, earthing, EMF and EMC. From a mechanical point of view, tower strength, stiffness and dynamics are addressed. The course also examines line routing and tower spotting, tower foundations, as well as installation and maintenance issues. A case interactive design will enable participants to immediately put what they have learned into practice.
At the end of the training session, participants will also have an opportunity to test their newly acquired knowledge, dynamic effects, etc.
The last (optional third) day is a hand on design workshop in the electrical field. These examples are according to the real cases and help to understand all theoretical background better. Participants can ask their specific questions and discuss in detail the concept. A case interactive design will enable participants to immediately put what they have learned into practice.

For whom?
This course is designed for anyone who is or will be involved in overhead lines in the course of their daily work. It is recommended - but not a requirement - that the participants have at least a Bachelor of Engineering degree or some prior knowledge of designing overhead lines.
