DNV-ST-F207 Hybrid thermoplastic composite flexible pipe

Standard

Edition 2024-04

This standard (ST) provides a methodology, structural requirements, and guidance for the design, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and operation of hybrid thermoplastic composite pipes (HTCP).

It may be used for the assessment of new or existing HTCP systems where modifications to pipelines and/or risers are required.

Conformance with the requirements herein are intended to ensure that:

  • load effects are established with acceptable methods. HTCP load effects include the effects of interaction with conventional layers. Load effects in conventional layers include the effects of interaction with the TCP layers
  • the safety level of TCP layers corresponds to the adopted safety class in the same way as that of other pipes designed according to DNV-ST-F201
  • the probability of failure modes arising from interaction between TCP and conventional layers that are addressed explicitly in this document is in accordance with the assigned safety class.

The safety level of conventional layers is implied from the API Spec 17J criteria in the same way as for conventional flexible pipes.
