Gartner recognizes DNV in Market Guide for Asset Performance Management Software
The Gartner 2019 Market Guide for Asset Performance Management Software recognizes DNV as a Representative Vendor in Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions.
Improve business operations
Asset performance management is becoming a standard way for asset-intensive industries, such as Energy and Oil & Gas, to improve business operations by maximizing reliability, availability and safety. But not all APM software vendors can deliver comprehensive, cross-industry solutions.
Comprehensive capabilities in all four APM categories
DNV is one of the representative vendors mentioned in the Gartner report. The report evaluates vendors in four functional APM categories: asset risk management, reliability-centered maintenance, predictive asset management and condition-based management. See Figure 5, ‘Capabilities of Representative APM Vendors’, below. We believe our asset-centric software solutions for the energy and oil and gas industries put us is in a strong position in these markets.
“Our strategy at DNV has been to onboard best-of-breed industry domain software with well-proven enterprise solutions. This toolbox approach supports a wide variety of asset types and situations across the full energy chain,” says Elling Rishoff, Director of Software Ecosystems at DNV – Digital Solutions. “This is why we’ve had success in the market, and why our APM software is recognized by Gartner in their 2019 market guide.”

Performance improvement for asset-heavy industries
Asset performance management is used in asset-heavy industries where companies are changing from reactive to preventive and predictive maintenance schemes. It uses focused industry knowledge, software tools and integration to enterprise solutions to leverage data for decision support, performance improvement and risk reduction. APM helps maximize profits during the entire lifetime of a physical asset.
“Our customers operate in industries that depend on the success of their assets,” says Kenneth Vareide, CEO at DNV – Digital Solutions. “They require software solutions that not only drive their asset maintenance strategies but optimize their business operations. Our APM solutions give them what they need: lower maintenance costs, while managing risk, and greater reliability for their critical assets.”
