DNV GL accredited to ISO 22301:2019
UKAS has accredited DNV GL to the new version of the Business Continuity Management System standard.
In this period of high uncertainty, the ability of any organization to continue operations, avoiding interruptions of its service, is essential. The revised version mirrors todays’ complexities, helps organizations manage risks and reinforce competitive advantages.
Specifying the requirements for a Business Continuity Management System, the ISO 22301 standard now provides more clear and easy to read guidance on requirements.
Says Paul Breslin, ICT Sector Leader in DNV GL-Business Assurance on DNV GL’s approval by UKAS, the UK’s National Accreditation Body, “We are very proud of this achievement. Being recognized as certification body for the new version of ISO 22301 means boosting our commitment to helping organizations implement a business continuity strategy and overcome disruptions and dislocations to their operations.”
As an accredited certification body, DNV GL is ready to support customers in transitioning from the 2012 to the 2019 version of the standard.
The key changes:
- ISO requirements for High Level Structure had evolved from 2012 and were applied
- Requirements were clarified only; there are no new requirements
- Discipline-specific BC requirements are now all in Clause 8 ‘Operation’
- Clause 8 restructured to provide a clearer presentation of the key operational requirements.
- BC terms have been modified to improve clarity
