Energy hubs in the North Sea and Baltic Sea

Discover Europe’s new green power plan

The buildout of energy hubs in the North Sea and Baltic Sea is set to revolutionize Europe’s energy system and marks a new era in our strive for energy security and deep decarbonization. Together with the multiple connected energy projects, a massive buildout of wind energy as well as electricity and green hydrogen interconnectors, the energy hubs will enable the production, storage, and transport of renewable power at a previously unseen scale. With the added support of The Marienborg- and The Esbjerg Declaration, and targets for offshore wind energy buildout of at least 65 GW and green hydrogen of 20 GW by 2030, energy hubs are now ready to go from plans on the horizon to realization.

Offshore energy hubs require a multi-faceted approach

The world’s energy system is becoming increasingly integrated and complex to tackle, and offshore energy hubs are at the cutting edge of pioneering and complex infrastructures. Given their broad scope and immense scale, energy hubs require a multi-faceted approach to connect the details, understand the bigger picture, and navigate through the many interrelated assets, systems and operations.
