DNV-ST-0437 Loads and site conditions for wind turbines

Standard

Edition 2024-05

This standard (ST) provides design requirements and guidelines to be used for the determination of loads and site conditions for onshore and offshore wind turbines.

The objective of this standard is to:

  • Specify requirements, principles, and guidelines for the assessment of site conditions and the establishment of loads on wind turbines including support structures
  • Provide an internationally acceptable level of safety by defining minimum requirements for the determination of design loads and site conditions of wind turbines including their support structures (in combination with referenced standards, recommended practices, guidelines, etc.)
  • Supplement IEC 61400-1 Ed. 4 and IEC 61400-3-1 Ed. 1 where further guidance is needed
  • Serve as a guideline for designers, suppliers, purchasers, and regulators
  • Specify requirements and guidelines for deriving design loads including post-processing and load validation
  • Specify procedures and requirements for loads and site conditions subject to certification
serve as a basis for verification and certification of loads and site conditions.
