Grid code compliance (GCC) services, as described in this service specification (SE), make it possible to provide independent proof that grid code requirements (given by, e.g. electricity system operators, governments, or others) are fulfilled. The proof of capability and compliance hereby will be based on assessment of the implementation of corresponding GCC features in units, plants, modules, and facilities.
This SE outlines the requirements derived from the relevant grid codes. It details how to provide evidence of compliance through testing and measuring the technical capabilities of units and plants. Additionally, it explains how to evaluate the results and report compliance with various requirements across different levels, known as GCC classes. The certification concepts for grid code compliance constitute robust means to provide evidence of compliance and give corresponding confirmations to stakeholders (owners, financiers, partners, utility and insurance companies, the public, governmental, and non-governmental organizations) by independent verifications.
The SE should be used together with DNV-ST-0125, which provides a framework for proving grid code compliance by means of technical assessment, test, measurement, validation, and simulation.
