DNV-RP-0601 Managing environmental aspects and impacts of seabed mining

The overall objective of this recommended practice (RP) for seabed mining is to establish risk-based guidelines and recommendations for the processes required to protect the environment during seabed mining activities in the exploration and exploitation phases, as well as during decommissioning.

Furthermore, this document aims to increase the overall awareness of the environmental impacts and risks of seabed mining activities and demonstrate how to best manage these risks.

This RP aims to cover risk management issues which are particular to seabed mining and the protection of the marine ecosystem.
