Waste Management Licence, Industrial Emissions and Permit Applications
DNV have a team of expert consultants that have vast experience in the area of waste licences, industrial emissions licences, waste facility permit and certificate of registration applications and management. Offering customers expert advice in relation to the latest legislation and guidelines. We can advise you on the permitting and licensing options available to you based on the nature and scale of your business activities.
Certificate of Registration Applications
Applications for Certificate of Registrations are made to the relevant Local Authority where a proposed facility is located. DNV can complete applications and offer all additional services that may be required during the application process such as completion of site layout plans, site location maps, representation and attendance at pre-application meetings, liaising with the local authority on behalf of the customer.
Waste Collection Permit Applications
DNV can complete all waste collection permit applications and submit them to the National Waste Collection Permit Office (NWCPO) on your behalf. Our experts can advise you on waste classifications, waste codes, destination facilities, insurances, fit and proper person requirements and declarations. We can also provide waste collection permit training which may be required for new or start up waste businesses. DNV can assist on all reporting requirements, including end-of-year returns once you receive your waste collection permit.
Planning Applications

Closure/Decommissioning Management Plans
A closure plan or Closure, Restoration and Aftercare Management Plan (CRAMP) is usually completed in conjunction with an Environmental Liabilities Risk Assessment (ELRA). A CRAMP calculates costings that deal with site decommissioning and known liabilities for the facility at closure. Our senior consultants can complete fully costed ELRA and CRAMPs for facilities.
Environmental Liabilities Risk Assessment
The purpose of the European Community Environmental Liability Regulations is to establish a framework of environmental liability based on the 'polluter-pays' principle, to prevent and remedy environmental damage.
Environmental Liability Risk Assessment (ELRA) considers the risk of unplanned events occurring during the operation of a facility that could result in unknown liabilities. DNV provides a systematic approach to the assessment and management of environmental liabilities in order to comply with licence and permit conditions for ELRA and financial provisions.
The ELRA process for identifies risks and determines the worst case scenario for an establishment. The worst case scenario for the activity is quantified and costed for the purposes of a financial provision. We can assist you in finalising and agreeing your financial provision with the Environmental Protection Agency.
Air Dispersion Modelling
DNV have completed odour dispersion modelling assessments for a range of facilities throughout Ireland as part of the EPA licence applications process. Our consultants are trained and experienced in the use of the USEPA approved modelling software AERMOD. We can assist companies in achieving compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Site Layout Plans
DNV's engineering team can prepare site layout plans for your facility or development. We can carry out specific site surveys such as topographical surveys for detailed site layout plans to include site levels and elevations.
Odour Impact Assessment / Odour Management Plans
DNV have a team of trained environmental consultants who are qualified to undertake odour nuisance assessments in accordance with EPA Air Guidance Note 5 (AG5). Fire Water Retention Risk Assessment
DNV have prepared fire water retention risk assessments for a range of Environmental Protection Agency licensed facilities in accordance with the EPA requirements and current guidelines ensuring licence compliance for our clients.

Soil and Waste Classification
DNV have the necessary expertise to provide our clients with a comprehensive range of waste classification services including soil waste classification and management services.
