About Dr Pedersen

Frank Børre currently leads the Maritime Programme of DNV’s Research and Development unit.  The programme consists of 30+ researchers and focuses on research into low- and zero-carbon fuels, ship autonomy, simulation technologies, and emerging digital and computational technologies.   

His primary focus is working with key stakeholders in the maritime industry to develop and quality assure technologies that will drive the digitalization, decarbonization, safety, and efficiency of vessel operations and inspections. His technical and managerial experience across industries, including oil & gas, maritime, and renewable energy, combined with developing novel services within enterprise risk management where innovations and co-development with customers was the modus operandi, has positioned him as a leader in driving transformative solutions and fostering collaborative growth. He is frequently invited to speak at various conferences and events to share his knowledge and experience with AI assurance, and has a significant impact on enabling industries to adopt trustworthy AI.  

His expertise spans broad and deep insight into AI, digitalization, technology, risk, and uncertainty, with a special focus on research, innovation, deployment, and value creation.
