GS Caltex
Best RBI Solution for GS Caltex
GS Caltex chose RBI
GS Caltex first became a DNV customer in 2000, when the engineers recognized the risk-based inspection (RBI) software was superior to and more systematic than its competitors.
Total energy service
Korea's leader in providing total energy service, GS Caltex uses RBI for risk based inspection examination. Dong-Hun Yang, Inspection & Reliability Engineer at GS Caltex, has been using the software since 2009.
When the software was introduced in GS Caltex in 2000, it was because "we had recognized it was superior to and more systematic than other analyser software" says Mr. Yang. "It has very high reliability due to reasonable parameters", he says.
Mr. Yang is a key person on the Facilities Inspection 1 Team, which is responsible for the inspecton of fixed equipment and improvement of reliability at GS Caltex Yeosu, including refinery and facilities for storing and shipping oil.
Mr. Yang has been at GS Caltex since 2006. His current responsibilities include inspection of fixed equipment and improvement of reliability on a refinery plant, aromatics plant and facilities for storing and shipping oil at GS Caltex Yeosu.
The Facilities Inspection 2 Team has responsibilities for the residue fluid catalytic cracking plants and the hydrocracker plants.
Reliability improvement
There are two users of RBI at GS Caltex. They are planning on attending training to get the full benefits of the new release of RBI.
