Our Supplier Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for suppliers and is aligned with the UN Global Compact’s ten principles on human rights, labour standards, environmental performance and anti-corruption.
DNV only uses suppliers who accept our Supplier Code of Conduct. Suppliers are required to sign the Supplier Code of Conduct or accept it as a mandatory appendix to the contract.
Subcontractors must comply with HSE requirements that are equivalent to our own requirements. Checklists are in place to ensure an appropriate ethical standard for hired subcontractors in line with our Codes of Conduct. New indirect suppliers are screened for inherent sustainability risks. Where needed, suppliers are requested to conduct self-assessments.

We communicate the DNV Supplier Code of Conduct to all suppliers and suppliers are expected to communicate the content of our Code to their employees, agents, subcontractors and all other suppliers involved in the agreement with DNV.

Statement on modern slavery
We are committed to ensuring no modern slavery or human trafficking takes place in any of our business or supply chains.
Reporting of misconduct
Suppliers who believe that a DNV employee, or anyone acting on behalf of DNV, has engaged in illegal or otherwise improper conduct, should report the matter to DNV. Suppliers should similarly report any potential violation of this Code. A suppliers’ relationship with DNV will not be affected by an honest report of potential misconduct.
Reports may be made through DNV’s Group Compliance Officer, the Internal Ombudsperson, or DNV’s Integrity Hotline. The Internal Ombudsperson has an independent role and contacts are treated anonymously on request. DNV’s web-based reporting tool allows persons to anonymously notify misconduct and exchange information with designated case handlers within DNV. Incidents related to personal data protection should be reported to the Global Data Protection Officer.
Any indication of misconduct or a serious concern of misconduct can be made in writing, by telephone or in a personal meeting with any of the contacts below.
