Investing in CCUS - Commercial CCS capacity - Decarbonization pathway

In February and March 2024, 50% of oil and gas respondents to DNV's Energy Industry Insights survey indicated they plan to increase investment in CCUS over the next year. This is notably higher compared to respondents from electrical power (23%), renewables (28%), and industrial energy consumers (33%).

In DNV’s survey of nearly 1,300 senior energy professionals, 65% of oil and gas respondents believe CCUS will scale up rapidly within the next five years. This confidence surpasses that of respondents from electrical power (43%), renewables (52%), and industrial energy consumers (52%).
